From 1995 - 2007, the Dallas Theatre League presented the Leon Rabin Awards. The League ceased operations in 2007. DFW Theater is not associated with the DTL, but there was no single source for this information, so we decided to make it available.
To be eligible for the awards, the production company had to be a member of the Dallas Theatre League, and choose to participate in the awards. As a result, many outstanding productions are not represented here.
Special awards were given in some years. The Silver Ticket Award honored an individual, corporation, or foundation whose primary focus is not necessarily theatre related, but whose commitment to, and support of, theatre in the area is deserving of special recognition. The Career Achievement Award honored an individual with significant connections to Texas, who through their work in the theater have demonstrated a level of expertise and professionalism that is deserving of special recognition and reflects positively on the contributions of Texas theater artists to the world at large. The Standing Ovation Award honored an individual or organization whose contribution to the advancement of theatre in the Dallas, Texas area has been extraordinary and deserving of special recognition.
Our information for 1995 - 1999 is incomplete. If you can help, let us know!
* Denotes Winner
